Tom Venuto 17 Days From His 2005 Return To Bodybuilding Competition (New Photo 09-14-05)

Tom Venuto, CSCS, CPT

Wednesday, September 14th, 2005. I’ve been getting bombarded with emails asking me for pictures, so here you have it: This is what I look like 2 1/2 weeks out from my first natural bodybuilding competition since 2001 (It will be my 27th competition). I’m 187 lbs. in this photo (5’ 8” tall):

tom_venuto_09_14_2005.jpg

I still have a little ways to go and need to lose a few more pounds. With a little bit of fine tuning in these last 2 weeks, I will peak perfectly and be even leaner and look sharper and more striated on show day.

After carbing up and getting the excess subcutaneous water out the last three days, I will actually look bigger, fuller and much more vascular, even at a lower body weight (I’ve been depleted, dieting on only 2700 calories/150 grams of carbs a day these past couple weeks).

Naturally, I will be posting photos for you from show day and the photo shoots afterwards.

This blog has primarily been a training and workout journal, but I did post my diet several times. If you’re interested in learning what I ate to achieve this condition, you can search the archives in this blog for the entries in the “Nutrition” category.

The way I diet to prepare for competition is the EXACT same method I reveal in clear detail in my manual, Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle (BFFM). I have always practiced what I preached… and as you can see from my recent picture, I still do to this day…. and it works! (You can get a copy of BFFM here: www.BurnTheFat.com)

In the very near future, I will also be announcing the release of the first program in my new series of bodybuilding training courses. Rest assured, my muscle building training systems are every bit as effective as my fat burning nutrition system.

What you’ve seen in this blog is just a small sample of the training techniques and systems I have developed. When you are armed with my nutrition techniques AND my training techniques, you will become absolutely unstoppable in your quest for a leaner, more muscular - and all-natural - physical condition.

That’s all I have to say for today… gotta go do more cardio now… blog ya later!

Train hard and expect success all-ways,

Tom Venuto

PS. Nutrition is the foundational key to your success, regardless of whether you compete or if you just want to look leaner or more muscular. Once your nutrition is in place, then you can use progressively advancing training protocols to take your physique to higher and higher levels, without end. If your nutrition is NOT in place, then all your hard work in the gym is literally wasted. Burn The Fat, Feed The Muscle is the most complete and effective nutrition system ever developed for improving body composition (losing fat or gaining muscle). If you’re not on the program yet, get on it today by visiting:www.BurnTheFat.com. Then, watch this blog soon for information about some of the most complete, effective bodybuilding training courses ever developed!

PPS. (I don’t send many emails from this website because blog posts are easily syndicated through RSS or XML feeds, but if you have not subscribed to the email list yet (use the subscribe form in the upper right hand column on every page of this site), then be sure to subscribe immediately, because people on my Bodybuilding Secrets email announcement list will be the first to hear about any special offers when my first bodybuilding training course is released.

PPPS. If you think the information I’ve worked so hard to post in this blog for you over the past three months has been helpful, and if you would like to see me continue publishing these blogs after my competition is over (and do it for free rather than making this a paid memebers only site), then would you do me a favor? If you have a website or if you have a fitness-related blog, would you post a link on your site to www.BodybuildingSecrets.com? Thank you! I appreciate you helping to spread the word about Bodybuilding Secrets. (drop me an e-mail if you link to me and also let me know if you have your own blog - I enjoy reading other people’s health & fitness blogs as much as I enjoy writing my own.)

Hi Tom,

I was just about to post a comment about you posting some pictures of your progress...glad you beat me to it. You look awesome!! I enjoy your comments and detailed workouts which give me a great source of motivation in the gym.

I have your burn the fat feed the muscle and am trying out a formation...its a bit tricky and I get confused sometimes so wouldnt mind hearing from others who have done your program or are doing it...anyway, all the best Tom.

I hope the bodybuilding training courses are available for Christmas...(I'll get them sooner or later anyway.) I know they will be great.
By the way, I have gotten wonderful results on the BFFM program. My DH is also very pleased with my results. Unfortunately, I never took a "before" picture.
You know what? Precisely this week I was thinking on doing a website or blog or something. I'll let you know if I come up with something.

Tom, you are amazing! I have lost two pounds in two weeks in using your BFFM program. This is big deal for me, I had been on a plateau for 8 months. I could not get below 172 lbs. I was losing my mind until I found you. I am eating more and finally losing weight again. I love you, never stop being you.

Tom,
Your Burn The Fat book and newsletters have been positively influentialon my brother and I. I just wanted ask you, what exactly you do on the last week before the competition. I am a bodybuilder myself and will be competing very shorthly. To be precise, how exactly you carb load and how exactly you sodium deplete? i.e. what exactly you do prior(one week) to the comp?

Tom,
Fabulous results, especially from an "all natural" body builder. You truly are an inspiration to all of us who have made the choice not to "juice up". You give us all hope. The nutrition aspect is so critical to our success, and you must be commended for showing us exactly what's going into that body of yours to help you produce such great results. I've bought your wonderful book, copied all your diet plans at different stages, and enjoyed the detail you give for your workouts. I don't know any other site where you can find such information for natural body builders. I used to regularly view two or three other sites, but now just camp out here. Thanks again for all you do!

Hi Tom,

You give inspiration through your writing but also through your photo gallery at fitren.com. I already thought you had one of the best bodies anywhere, and I have often looked at these fitren pictures for inspiration. Fact is, I think you're becoming even more incredible! Whatever happens, you're already a winner but if you actually win this competition, in a way you'll make us feel all like winners too. Thanks for sharing this experience. I am far from this level, although BFFM has already transformed me. But I'll be checking your bodybuilding material as soon as you make it available. Al the best to you.

Vincent.

PS: Please drop the tank top on the next one. Your abs must look awesome as well!

Tom,

You look like you've gained considerable size compared to the old photo you posted on the main bodybuildingsecrets.com page. You also look much bigger than you did in the photo on the BurnTheFat.com web site. Based on this photo, your traps stand out as being considerably more developed than prior photos. I look forward to seeing the finished product. You look awesome.

Please post an entry with the contest details in case any of us hardcore students of yours want to attend.

Also, please post your day-to-day diet and workouts for your final week. I'm sure we'd all be very interested in your peak-week rituals.

Kudos on the great site. It’s evident that many, many people benefit from it beside me.

I'm subscribed to Lee Hayward's newsletter and he e-mailed to me an article you wrote about the top ten mistakes to aviod when working out. It's a really honest and helpful article, just absolutely great. As I was reading it I noticed that those tips "bonehead workout mistakes" and "kick butt workout tips" are the same important factors you mention in BFFM. Thanks for the article and especially BFFM, just everything. That article really helped me and was a reminder after reading BFFM. I know I'll go back and read your articles and BFFM time and time again. You make such a difference for me in that you help me tremendously. Good luck with your competition, awesome job, and keep posting your progress, writing, and creating more training courses. Looking forward to everything you have on the way. :-)

I can't wait until you come out with your new bodybuilding training courses. I just bought BFFM for my birthday and I already love it (I'm still on the 1st chapter).

Congratulations Tom for getting this far.
You worked very hard and in the end you'll come out on top. GOOD LUCK
