The Secret Muscle Building Weapon Is Unveiled…

Tom Venuto

In my last post, I announced the arrival of my new, secret muscle-building weapon in a big 5’ tall box. Readers tried (in vain) to guess what was inside the box… Guesses ranged from a huge vat of protein powder to Monica Brant, Gift wrapped (er, that would be nice, but unfortunately, no, she was not inside the box)… Since it’s obvious that no one is going to guess correctly, I decided to go ahead and unveil the “device” … NOW see if you can figure out what this is…

the muscle building secret weapon is unpacked and unveiled….

What is it?

Okay, there it is… what is it gang????

PS Those of you who have gotten a sneak preview of this puppy in action (you know who you are) dont spoil it for everyone else… let’s see who can figure it out…

I'll guess that this is either a calf raise/press "machine", or even a squat device if the straps are stretchable enough.

Either way, I hope you didn't pay much for this, as it looks super easy to make (wood board, two foot straps, two longer straps, and a bar in between). If you did, I might just get into that business :-).

Actually, Jessie, you cant get into the business (unless the inventor offers some kind of license or authorized distributorship), because the device is patented... I had mine custom built by hand by the inventor himself... more info soon

Looks like it might be some sort of device to use your own bodyweight as resistance. So, for instance, if you stand in the treads marked and grab the straps perhaps there's a way to lift your own body. Sort of a modified lever. The fulcrum would be that thin strip of wood on the one edge.

I would take a wild guess and say it's a Pilates machine.

But Tom said he'd force me to do a [deleted by admin because it gives it away] workout if I spilled the beans!

My guess is some type of a bent row or dead lift doo-hickey where you have to sort of lift yourself off the ground. But that's a flat out guess.

The suspense is killing me!

I would say it is to squat in a position perpendicular to the wall. Okay, maybe not perpendicular, but straight or close to straight.

As Tom's training partner, I MUST say, this thing must have been conceived in medieval times as a torture device..It's the most wicked sick painful thing I have ever used. The good part is that it WORKS big time!

And the winner is.... MARIELA!

A couple people were real close with their guesses... but not 100%... because this contraption is not a multi purpose device and its not a "sissy squat" (sisy squat is performed off the ball of the feet)...

but YES! it is a squat device. This is for squatting in a vertical position with a very narrow stance for total quad emphasis.

My full report later today in a new blog entry

It looks like a Roman Chair - can be used for ab work or sissy squats.
